The new album, with ten compositions inspired by the photography of Vivian Maier, is nearing completion.
The septet that recorded the Music at Night album re-entered the studio, but this time in octet format – adding a vibraphonist, the American Rob Waring. The project is co-produced by the saxophonist / photographer Tom Beek and will again feature Teus Nobel on trumpet, as well as many of the other familiar faces from Music at Night.
The first single from the album will come out in October – watch this space!
See the video for a sneak peek – in the studio with Udo Pannekeet, mixing the final track of the album: “Room for Other People – Reprise”, with Teus Nobel on trumpet and yours truly on piano.
